My passport, cash and cards, and keys disappeared from beside my bed while I was asleep. My Tile tracker puts it sometime between 2:30 and 7 in the morning; by 7:30 the items were off the property, and I still haven't gotten them back. The only other people staying in the room were two hostel staff members and one long-term guest. I've never had anything like this happen, and I'm still shocked. My cards are canceled, but I keep getting more than 20 declined charges to the same Merpago account. There are no locks on the building entrance, reception, or dorm room. When I asked about that at check-in, staff told me nobody ever comes up there and I should trust them. I shouldn't have. There are cameras, but staff wouldn't show the footage to police when they arrived. Travelers, be careful. Don't stay here unless you're okay with the risk of being robbed.

I only stopped in for the bar, didn't stay at the hostel. The upstairs setup is amazing, with lots of little lounge spots, games at the bar, and plenty of people to chat with. It has a club feel without being too much. The music was loud, but not painfully so. Rooftops are one of the best things about Playa, and this might be the best one in all of PDC.

A hammock is a must for me, so I was happy they had one. The kitchen is good too if you want to cook, and the internet worked well for my remote work. Everything was within about a five-minute walk, which was handy for #BPM2017. The staff brought great energy every day and were quick to help, including pointing you in the right direction if you didn't know where to go. The rooms were very clean, with air conditioning, nice sheets, and thick curtains around each bed for privacy. There's also a lovely rooftop to relax and have a drink. They pay attention to details and are open to feedback.

I was looking for another bar and stumbled into this rooftop hostel bar instead. The drinks were really refreshing, and the service was great. Nice, laid-back atmosphere for a Wednesday night.

The location is perfect, and the staff were kind, but I wouldn't recommend the place. I booked two nights and ended up leaving after one because of a bedbug 😱. I told the staff right away when I spotted it. They moved me to another room, and when I said I wanted to check out, they refunded the unused night. The bathroom is very old. The pipe, shower head, and faucet all seem rusty, and the water smells.
