A pleasant place to stay in Playa Del Carmen. The neighborhood is quiet, and the beach is nearby. La Quinta Avenida, or 5th Avenue, is also an easy walk.

The property is immaculate and clearly very well maintained. The security guards and property owners were friendly. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
We loved our stay. The condo was nice and safe, the grounds were well kept, and the central location made everything convenient. Very relaxing.
We left after a month, even though we'd originally planned to stay three. The security in this building felt invasive: guards took photos of my family and me at the pool because we had plastic cups, and they wouldn't let us be anywhere near the pool after 9pm. They seemed to watch every move, and we ended up feeling harassed and wanting to get out. There was also a dispute over the electricity bill for Viento 2, the unit we booked. At the end of our stay, the woman in charge set her own price for the electricity, after initially telling us this was the lowest-cost area in all of Playa. Knowing I was rushing to the airport, she asked me to multiply the KW we used by 5 pesos. For ONE MONTH, the bill came to 7,350 pesos, plus an 800 cleaning fee. I felt robbed, but she had already deducted it from our deposit, and I was running late for the airport. A week later I was still thinking about it, so I downloaded a copy of the condo's electric bill. It showed our consumption was 3,606 pesos. We confronted her, and she gave some money back after we said we would post reviews. She said her bosses backed her in anything she did. Stay at your own risk if you want to be robbed and pay over $350 USD in electric for two people. I don't see how that could be possible when we were out roaming around most of the time. When I went back to Playa recently, I stayed in the same area in a much better place for the same price. There are so many nice, modern condos with rooftop views of Playa to choose from.
Our rooms at Luna Maya Condominios were just right for size and comfort, and the beds were super comfortable. The security guys, Romeo and Jose, were always attentive and helpful. It's a two-minute walk to a beautiful beach and three to five minutes from Avenuda 5ta. Rick was always willing to answer my questions before and during our one-week stay in the middle of July 2016. Luna Maya was by far the best place we've ever stayed on vacation. I can't say enough good things about it. I'd recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting the Riviera Maya. It's close to the airport and all the attractions in the Riviera. We'll definitely stay here again when we go back, hopefully soon.
