Magic Blue Spa Boutique Hotel-Adult Only

The pool sits in a jungle-like setting in the middle of the city, and the hotel is peaceful at night, not a party place. I loved spotting lizards around the grounds. Service was wonderful, the staff were friendly, respectful, and helpful, and breakfast was high quality. The spa is lovely too. If you can, try the hydrotherapy and a massage. I highly recommend the hotel and would happily return.

The pool and gardens are beautiful, though the pool itself was quite dirty. Breakfast was decent enough, but I'd rather have fewer options at better quality. The bathrooms are very old, the shower takes ages to get even lukewarm, and the water pressure is really low. The stairs to room 24 are in terrible shape and felt dangerous to use, especially with luggage. It was alright for one night, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends or stay again. The place is right beside Playa del Carmen's busiest, loudest street, though that's my fault for booking last minute without checking the area.

The staff were helpful and service was good, but at this price I'd choose a hostel if I could do it over. A lot of the amenities felt like price traps. The TV didn't work, and there was no hot water in the shower. Breakfast was included, but it was awful, cold and bad tasting. It’s downtown, though not particularly close to anything worthwhile.

This is our favorite place in PDC so far, after a few visits. It's a lovely little spot in central playa with a nice pool, lots of tanning beds, and trees that make it feel like a jungle. Everything felt modern, perhaps after renovations, and the beds were comfortable. It was extremely clean, the wifi was really fast, and the TV had Netflix. The water pressure was fine and there was endless hot water. Breakfast is a nice buffet at the Brazilian grill next door. Check the website carefully for the different packages so you get the one you want.
