Marvic Boutique Hotel

Gina at reception was lovely and incredibly helpful. She got me set up with everything I needed, including activities. My room was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless, and the hotel is right by the beach and 5th Ave. I couldn't have picked a better place.

Pablo was so friendly and great with us. From here, it's easy to walk to restaurants, clubs, and the beach, and you can rent bikes and mopeds too. Such a convenient spot. I'd definitely stay again for the service.

Access was a constant headache because the electronic doors and cards kept failing. A few times we couldn't get into our bedroom because its lock was faulty. The Wi-Fi was too poor to watch even a simple movie at night, and the shower only had lukewarm water. There were curtains instead of shower doors, and our view was just surrounding buildings. The rooftop pool and BBQ seating area were in poor condition. We also had no toilet seat in our bedroom's toilet. We complained at reception, but they didn't seem to care, offered silly excuses, and never fixed it. The two people at reception showed no concern for our well-being, and seemed interested only in getting our money. At checkout, they charged us extra for what they called stains on old bathroom towels. The stains were imaginary, which was unbelievable. We didn't feel secure either. Reviews say belongings are often stolen from rooms and even safes when guests are away, and the place seems to rip clients off. Simply don't go there. Avoid it at all costs.

The room was outdated and dirty, and I'm sorry we didn't read the other reviews carefully before booking. When I arrived, there was wee all over the toilet seat. I asked housekeeping to clean it, but they just wiped it with a rag, no cleaning product. I tried a baby wipe and it turned completely black with dirt 🤢. The WiFi didn't work, the shower water was cold, and the beds were uncomfortable. The bedding and towels looked questionably clean. The pool area was dirty and dated, nothing like the photos, which didn't resemble the reality at all. After reading reports of hotel staff entering rooms and stealing things from rooms and safes, we kept our valuables with us at all times. I'd recommend doing the same if you unfortunately have to stay here. At checkout, they charged us a lot for marks on a towel that would come off in the wash. From the other reviews, this looks like a recurring scam. We expected something like it anyway because we thought they were sleazy scammers. I'm not sure how they got their four stars; maybe they bought them with all the money they stole from guests 🤷🏽‍♀️
