One Playa Del Carmen

It’s handy for a short stop, with the ADO station very close and Quinta Avenida only a few blocks away, less than a 10-minute walk. Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly, but the room was incredibly small, barely enough space to open our luggage. The bathroom could’ve been cleaner, and the included breakfast was very basic. I thought it was okay for one night, but wouldn’t stay longer.

The hotel is ultra-clean and very well maintained, with a good room design and a really nice bathroom. Breakfast is free and has plenty to it: scrambled eggs with meat, tortilla, beans, salsa, and drinks, not just plain toast and butter. The location is fantastic, with the bus terminal right in front of the main gate, a grocery store and bank next door, and a restaurant and the beach just a few minutes’ walk away. One of the best hotels I’ve found in the yukatan for the price. Wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s awesome.

The hotel costs less but compares well with places that charge much more. We’re picky about clean rooms, linens, and towels, and were really impressed with how clean everything was. Breakfast is included and is a full meal, with scrambled eggs, beans, tortillas, salsa, cheese, toppings, and more. It’s right beside Walmart and the ADO bus station, and only a 5-10 minute walk to Avenida 5 and the beach. Terrific hotel, I’d definitely stay again.

It’s a comfortable, very clean hotel for the price, with helpful staff and a great experience overall. The rooms were cleaned daily if you wanted, and check-in was quick. My Spanish is limited, but the patient staff made the instructions easy to understand. Breakfast had cereal, yogurt, fruit, eggs, and waffles, and it runs from 7-11 am, so there’s time for a filling meal even if jet lag makes you sleep in. Juice and ice are free, which is a godsend in the heat, though you have to go down to the main lobby for them. A small drinks fridge in the room would be nice, just a small nitpick. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from 5th Avenue and around 2 minutes from Walmart, so it’s easy to pick up amenities. Very nice, comfortable, and cost effective, with everything you need.
