The beach is calm and lovely, almost like a natural pool. I liked this little vintage-style hotel, recently renovated, and its quiet, friendly vibe. The food was great, especially the excellent ceviches and beef tacos in delicious homemade corn tortillas. Fresh coconuts were my favorite. There's a nice spa and morning workout classes by the sea. Great place!

The oceanfront view is the one thing this hotel has going for it. We spent the week walking to the marina boardwalk for fabulous meals. The hotel food setup was disappointing: coffee wasn't available until the small breakfast area opened at 8 am, the menu had only eight items, and we waited an hour for coffee, yogurt, fruit, and granola. The food was actually made at the beachbar and brought up to the outside restaurant. Hotel amenities listed in the description weren't all available on site; some meant walking off property to the marina boardwalk. The beach bar drinks were small and overpriced. Housekeeping seemed to lack enough or proper supplies. Two days in a row they took our wet towels without leaving replacements, and we never got washcloths all week. The toiletries were used and half empty. The toilet had poor flushing, so we had to be careful about when to flush. There was no water until 5:30 pm on Super Bowl Sunday. Staff acted like they couldn't care less, and we spoke with other guests who were upset that such a beautiful hotel could be such a disappointment. Terrible management. It's supposedly a no-smoking hotel, but guests smoked everywhere, including on the beach. Staff never said anything, and one staff member smoked below our patio, making the smoke on our patio terrible at times. There was no coffee before 8 am in the tiny breakfast area.

We haven't stayed overnight yet, but Puerto Aventuras Hotel & Beach Club is our favorite place to spend a day on the coast, and our visits never disappoint. The beach is gorgeous, the sunsets are stunning, and the whole place feels relaxed and welcoming. The food is so good it deserves its own review. The sushi is the best I've ever had, and the pizzas are perfect for sharing. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. The bar team, servers, and chefs are especially kind and attentive, which makes each visit feel special. If you're after good food, lovely views, and friendly service in Puerto Aventuras, it's a must-visit.

Puerto Aventuras is such a nice place on the Mexican Caribbean, with friendly people, safe streets, lovely beaches, and marinas. This time I'm at Puerto Aventuras Hotel and Beach Club, and it's a gem in the middle of town. The pool, beach, rooms, and welcoming staff have made it my new go-to hotel in the Yucatan. With more than 15 restaurants just a few minutes' walk away, I don't see the need for an all-inclusive. Visit Nautii Burro for the music, and don't miss the tiny magical Cenote Madre inside the village gates, though check ahead to see if it's open. If you're here the last week of March, the Puerto Aventuras International Film Festival is a must-see.

I guess you get what you pay for. This place is cheap for a reason, and it felt like about a three-star hotel, not four. Our room was dirty, with dust everywhere and ants. There was no kettle or tea and coffee in the room, and the outdoor jacuzzi wasn't clean, so we didn't try it. There was no running water in the morning when we woke up. The pool area looked nice, and the beach bar itself was pleasant, but there was no service. It wasn't busy, yet no waiter came to take orders, so I had to go to the bar. I wouldn't recommend booking a room here. Luckily, we were only there one night.
