Petit Lafitte Beachfront Hotel & Bungalows

The staff were especially lovely, and we enjoyed the location and accommodations. Lunch was fine for small bites, and the guac and drinks were great. Breakfast was continental, which I liked, but we stuck to yogurt, granola, and fruit because the larger options didn't look worth eating. Dinner was buffet style every night, and none of it looked appetizing, so we ate at the nearby Viceroy instead. Food and coffee are subjective, but those were the only things that missed for us. Otherwise, everything was perfect and it was well worth it.

This was a small, un-touristy spot that didn't feel like a big resort full of 100 people. We spent five days here, October 30 to November 3, 2025, in a beach cabin, and had a lovely, relaxing trip. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was great. They offered two main options, and we always got both. Playa del Carmen's downtown is about a 25-30 minute taxi ride away. It was around 25 USD each way, and the hotel can arrange a ride whenever you need one. I'd recommend it for a laid-back getaway alone or as a couple.

The garden between the bungalows is lovely, and we spotted lots of different animals there. At Petit Lafitte Hotel, the staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast had many delicious Yucatan dishes. We had a great stay and would definitely return.

We spent four days here without leaving the hotel, relaxing in the sun by the pool and on the beach. The meals were good, the villas were excellent, and the staff were very professional. It was a great place to pause between all our travels through Central America, and we left feeling ready for the next leg.
