We booked the villa the same day, and the owners responded quickly and made it work. It feels like an oasis amid the busy Riviera Maya, inside a gated golf course that felt very safe. The backyard pool was a great place to relax. Public beaches, several nice restaurants, and a dolphin lagoon are all a short walk away.

A lovely, clean, spacious house, and a great spot for a night or two. The bedsheets were amazing, though the shower was quite cold, especially on a cold, rainy night. There are lots of restaurants and shops in the community. I just hated seeing so many dolphins kept in small spaces in the lagoons there.

We enjoyed having a small patio off our room, both for sitting outside and for getting to the pool. The place was clean and well maintained. Villas Picalu is in our preferred area, with an easy walk to the Puerto Aventuras entrance and the Marina restaurants. The beach is beyond the Marina, no more than about a 10-minute walk.

We planned on staying for a month over the winter, then ended up extending it to two. The area’s beauty and the lovely weather completely won us over, and Alberto and Sonia helped make it the best time of our lives. Everything suited us perfectly, especially for us coming from Chicago. The apartment was well equipped, with a very comfortable bed, and it was spotlessly clean. We loved the comfy outdoor sitting area, the cozy pool that was always clean, and all the new sunbeds. The villas also always smelled fresh and clean, and there was plenty of privacy. The location worked so well too, an easy 10-minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and dolphins. Alberto helped arrange a car and golf cart rental, and bike rental is on site.
