We stayed in a cabin with a loft, and it felt like camping out in a fort as kids. With the windows open, the breeze came through nicely. The beach is just a short walk away, though you can’t see the ocean because buildings block the view. There’s a fun community kitchen where you can share meals and meet travelers from around the world. It feels like a laid-back hostel more than a hotel, with people of all ages. The place has great character, even though it lacks things like a closet or dresser. We loved staying here and will be back.

The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that the website doesn’t mention towels aren’t provided and must be rented. There were ants in my room too, and I wore earplugs in case they tried to get in my ears. The employees were super nice and friendly. I had a really nice time in this cool place, a real little gem in the heart of Playa Del Carmen.

It’s near the beach and the bus station, and the kitchen is well equipped. Getting the right change for the room payment turned into a bit of a challenge because the male attendant struggled with the math. I wouldn’t stay more than a couple of days.

It’s inexpensive and in a good location, within walking distance of all the nightlife in playa del carmen. Nothing fancy, but it covers the basic needs well.

The shared central area was really unpleasant, and the kitchen was tiny and in very bad shape. The Wi-Fi worked okay in my room. The bathrooms were acceptable, with hot water, but nothing fancy. The room itself was bad in every way.
