Sol del Caribe Apart Hotel

We stayed for a week in October 2022, and for the money this is a great option. The rooms had everything we needed, were very clean, and were cleaned daily. Wifi worked well, and management paid close attention to guests' needs. There can be some weekend noise at night, but that's part of being on 5th av. Pretty much anywhere there gets noisy, and this definitely wasn't the loudest spot on 5th ave. I'd come back if I'm in playa again.

The staff were nice and helpful, the beds comfortable, and there's a safe in the room. It's also not far from the sea. But the air conditioning didn't work, and although there was Wifi, it didn't work either. Noise from the disco in the next building went on until 2 am. If you're looking for a calm, quiet place, this is hell. If you like discos and going to sleep at 2 am, you'll enjoy it.

We had a confirmed reservation for two nights over New Years, booked through booking.com ten days before the holiday. The day before, we got confirmation again, but when we arrived there was no room for us. With our bags, we spent hours walking around town trying to find somewhere to stay. In the end, our only option was a dump of a hotel.

Avoid this place. It felt like a scam and was the worst place I've stayed. The people in charge seemed to be from argentina, and they looked very shady. I just hope they didn't clone our credit card. It's beside a very loud bar, so sleeping is out of the question. The so-called air conditioning is only a fan, and the freezer and water pump keep making loud noises all night. A lot of the appliances don't work.
