The Gallery Condos Playa de Carmen

The price feels high for what you get, though that’s Playa Del Carmen, a money and party city. The location is very central, close to 5th avenue and the beach, and there’s an OXXO across the street. Our room had a kitchen, and the large central pool was a plus. Daytime front desk service was great, though evening staff usually didn’t speak English.

The complex itself was perfect for our stay in Playa, with a great location, an adults-only rooftop pool, and a nice gym with well-maintained equipment. The staff were kind and helpful. We stayed in an AirBnB suite in the building, and that particular unit could have used some basic maintenance to make the stay better.

I arrived to a room that was unbearably hot, and the air conditioning didn’t seem to work right. Management was rude when I contacted them and said I must be using it incorrectly. I followed their instructions and waited several hours, but it stayed hot, and I ended up sleeping sweaty and uncomfortable all night. The place has potential, but after this experience, whoever manages it should probably find another job. Check the other reviews too.

There were cockroaches in this condo. The room was tiny, and despite being advertised as a one-bedroom, it was just a studio. I wouldn’t spend vacation trying to save a few bucks here, book a hotel instead.
