The Reef 28 Hotel & Spa - Luxury Adults Only - All Suites

Ricardo was easily the best bartender of our trip. Try a Ricky Special, it was delicious. Roberto served cocktails too, always friendly and keeping the drinks coming. The dinners we had were spectacular, and the hotel was very clean, with staff around whenever we needed help or just wanted to say hi. Our street-facing room did get music until about 11 pm each night. The construction at another hotel was the worst noise, though, and doors in other rooms slammed as people came and went. Apart from that, it was a pretty quiet hotel, and we didn't have a complaint.

I was there February 20-24, at a time when I needed not to make decisions. I hadn't expected how attentive everyone would be, and that care made the stay a wonderful experience. Lezlie at the front desk remembered my name and room number and patiently answered my questions. Israel also helped with my questions, and reassured me that the events in Puerto Vallarta weren't happening in Playa and that he trusted the local security enforcement. That brought my fears down to zero. Eduardo stood out at the restaurant and rooftop. He was attentive without hovering, even noticing when my drink was running low before I did. I also saw him cross a board that looked loose, turn back, and report it so it could be fixed. I noticed that same pride in everyone, from the person cleaning the front windows to the maid service. At the Reef, people seemed to take responsibility for making guests' stays good, rather than saying something wasn't their job. I hope the Reef recognizes how hard the staff work, always with a smile. Thank you for a perfect stay. I'll be back next February!

The all-inclusive ease was undermined by having to sign for everything and feeling expected to tip. Breakfast was especially frustrating: some of the older staff were aggressive about tips, and wouldn't bring coffee or juice if they felt you hadn't tipped enough. I don't want to carry cash to tip just to eat breakfast at my own hotel. There were plenty of good things. The location was fantastic, the spacious rooms felt luxurious and were well equipped, and housekeeping was spot on, friendly, and considerate. The rooftop was a great place to spend time, and the service there was excellent, especially Anel. But there weren't always enough sunbeds, and many that were reserved stayed empty. The pool was far too cold. Some nights there was no rooftop music, so the place felt flat and often closed early. The lobby bar was nice, and Denisee was always friendly and made amazing drinks. The menu was good, but more vegetarian choices would have helped. We loved the tacos but couldn't have them every time.

Brenda and Lezlie helped make my friend's bachelorette weekend unforgettable for our group of 7. Lezlie sorted out room assignments, upgrades, and early check-ins. Brenda arranged special decorations for the bride's room, a personal touch we loved. Thank you both for treating us like royalty. The rooms were spacious with wonderful views, the facilities were clean, and the prices were very reasonable. The all-inclusive package is a must, and we loved the on-site restaurants and drinks. The spa massages were top-notch and the rooftop pool was a lot of fun. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from bellboys to managers. The hotel is one block from the beach and one block from Avenida Quinta, so it's perfectly situated. Everyone made this such a special trip and a lasting memory. We're definitely planning to come back. 100/10 stars!
