We were visiting friends who were guests and joined them for dinner at Villa Morena. The setting was lovely, though I wish we’d had time to explore more. We had wonderful service, and the food was delicious: homemade pasta, burrata, and fantastic panacotta, even though I don’t usually like it. The cocktails were the best I’ve had in Mexico. I’d stay here just for the authentic Italian meals. Based on dinner, I feel like the accommodations would be just as good, though we didn’t stay overnight. It’s a very remote spot, so you’ll need a car or should plan to relax at this family-run eco lodge in the jungle.

We really enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and dinners, and the rooms were well appointed with excellent service. It’s a charming, very tranquil place in a remote location. You can get to Akumal by bicycle, though having a car would be useful if you stay here.

We had a wonderful stay in this little jungle oasis. Vanessa and her family were so welcoming, remembered how we liked breakfast each morning, and shared helpful tips about places to go. Their advice led us to some magical hidden spots. The Italian food, made from their own traditions, was incredible. I had the best gnocchi I’ve ever tasted, it just melted in my mouth. Highly recommend it if you’re after a peaceful reset in beautiful surroundings with amazing food.

Vanessa was so helpful with questions about the area and did her best to offer advice or make things easier. When we were returning from a tour late at night, she even offered to pick us up from the main road. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and you can reserve a nice Italian dinner menu in advance. It’s a beautiful place with exceptional hosts. We had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend it.

Such a peaceful oasis in the jungle, and a great place to enjoy nature without giving up comfort. The hosts serve lovingly prepared Italian meals, from their home country. Their pets are very cute, too. Highly recommend.
