Hotel El Mirador

My husband and many friends have stayed here for 8-9 years, and I used to like the hotel. This weekend changed my view completely. I paid for three rooms and one apartment, but from check-in onward the front office person, Heidi, made everything almost impossible. She was passive aggressive and rude, and kept insisting I give her cash even after I said I was paying for the rooms on my card. I went to ask for my $90 deposit for multiple reservations. She had required the remotes and key back, though I had already told her we were checking out Saturday night for our early 5am Sunday departure. She even threatened to call the police over it. I would really appreciate the owners contacting me so I can provide details.

There were two beds, and the room was very clean. We had fun in the pool and were near the beach. I signed in to my Hulu account, but it wouldn't let us watch anything. The cable did work.

As a solo female traveler in Mexico, feeling safe and at ease matters as much as being comfortable, and El Mirador gave me peace of mind. The room and bathroom were clean and bright, and the quiet was a real plus for an introvert like me. The hotel has a pool and a nice gated outdoor patio for weddings, celebrations, or family time. It's right on a really cool beach. While other tourist spots and hotels offer crowds, noise, and luxuries that appeal to average visitors, I think El Mirador gives you real value. To me, it's a hotel gem: clean, secure, with water to enjoy and a relaxed vacation. Five stars.

We went during Memorial Day weekend a few years ago, my first stay at the El Mirador Village Hotel. We booked in advance and got a nice discount on the weekend rate. The staff handled all our requests helpfully, and we also met the owner, who had come down from Phoenix, AZ for the weekend. We couldn't have been happier with the staff. It's a great Sea-Side- Resort close to local restaurants and markets. I'd gladly stay again and recommend the hotel to friends.
