Sea Rock Hotel

The people were a bright spot. Keyla and her husband were friendly and kept us informed about town, and Alma, the cleaner, had plenty of good food suggestions. The place itself could use upgrades, though. My wife had back pain from the extremely firm beds and could barely sleep, so she got a little rest on the couch. The coffee maker had no coffee, and the shampoo and lotion were reused travel-size bottles. Curtains offered little privacy, including at a window with a direct view into the restroom. There was A.C. in only one room, and more units would help. There isn't an elevator, so guests with disabilities would need a ground-floor room. The gate works automatically, but staff have to open and close it, which could leave you stuck inside or out if nobody is there. Not a terrible place, but upgrades to the rooms could help the rating.

Comfortable beds, and close to just about everything.

For the price, it's a solid choice if you're mostly in town to party and won't be indoors much. The location is handy, about a 10-minute walk to Manny's and 15 minutes to Malecon. The A.C. in the rooms is excellent, but the shower pressure is awful and the beds are among the hardest and least comfortable I've had. Wi-Fi didn't work either.

We felt safe, and the room was clean and affordable. It's a five-minute drive to the beach and close to el malecon. We had hot water, though the pressure was terrible, and the toilet was in a funny spot in our room, lol. Still, I'd definitely stay again.
