Sonoran Sky V

We've been visiting Rocky Point for five years and have always stayed at Sonoran Sky Resort, mainly for its heated bar pool. It's the only pool that's comfortable for us all year. We came with our two-year-old and are expecting another baby, and the other upper pools are unheated and frigid. They're almost always empty, and young kids can't safely regulate their body temperature in them. In past years, adults and children shared the heated lower pool without any nuisance issues. This time security stopped us just as our toddler was about to get in. The posted sign only says children under three need a swim diaper, and he had one. When my husband asked management, they said it was a new rule: children can't use the property's only heated pool. Sending a family with a toddler, and soon an infant, to the unheated pools feels dismissive and medically unsound. When we have a six-month-old next year, we won't be able to use any pool because the resort won't heat the areas families can access. This arbitrary rule ruined our vacation. If you're traveling with young children who need comfortable water temperatures, don't stay here. Sonoran Sky has made it clear families aren't valued anymore. We'll take our business elsewhere.

This place used to be family-friendly. Now new rules keep kids out of every pool except the kiddie pool, so we're done coming here.

We had a great time. The staff were great, and the whole place was clean and well looked after. There's a restaurant and convenience store too.

The room had a full ocean view, and we liked the sandy beach, multiple pools, and little convenience store by the lobby. Staff were friendly and helpful, with security at the entrance around the clock and people near the beach entrance and pools. All the pools seemed open to families, from babies and toddlers to older kids, including the swim-up bar, which we found odd. I still love Rocky Point, but the room was a disappointment. It looked old and neglected. There was no hot water in the shower, the mattress was VERY hard, and the sofa cushions had no support. Cabinet knobs came off in our hands, and some hinges were broken. The room was full of dated decorations and faded pillows. There was no maid service, no dishwasher pods, and only hand soap, with no shampoo, body wash, or hair conditioner. Toilet paper was very limited, and the towels were worn out with no face cloths.
