The Cove Hotel has pretty grounds, a nice building, and friendly staff, but our stay had several problems. We left for another resort because we couldn’t get a decent night’s rest. Management refused a refund for the unused nights and offered only a credit, which is no use to us since we wouldn’t return. The location is farther from the Malecon and other places than the map suggests. We checked Google Maps before booking, but the direct-looking walking route to the Malecon isn’t actually possible. The nearby street was quiet during the day, then on Sunday from 7 PM until 2 AM loud cars and music made it feel like a racetrack. Wind also kept rattling both the sliding balcony door and the main room door in their frames. There aren’t any TVs in the rooms, and the hotel doesn’t mention that. I get the idea of disconnecting on vacation, but it was a surprise when we just wanted to unwind. The toilet in our enclosed bathroom room kept leaking, leaving water pooled across the floor. It’s a nice-looking place, but be warned.

I usually stay along the resort strip, but decided to try this boutique hotel and was glad I did. It’s quiet, with clean, modern rooms and really friendly, attentive staff. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and you get sea views, though there’s no beach access. What a nice surprise. I’ll definitely come back whenever I can.

I’ve stayed here four times now, and the peaceful, quiet rooms are modern and impeccably clean. The property feels calming and lovely. The price was right, and everyone was great to work with. I had a really good stay and will come back. A special thanks to the housekeeper, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t catch. She kept my room neat and clean throughout my four-day visit.

We spent three nights at this small hotel, which is close to everything you need in Peñasco and near the ocean for sunrise views. The staff are great, and the adults-only setting made it just right for a quiet, relaxing stay. A must if that’s what you’re after.
