La Casa Blanca

My girlfriend and I had a great time at Casa Blanca. It was spotless, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The location was close to everything while still feeling peaceful. The hosts were quick to respond, and check-in was easy. We'd definitely stay again.

Studio #1 was clean and nice, with amazing views, a wraparound patio, and a private outdoor jacuzzi. The beach and the Malecón boardwalk are only four blocks away, and the hosts were very responsive. One thing that might surprise people is that the bathroom is basically open to the outside. Aside from that, it's a lovely place with a great pool and I'd recommend it, especially for couples.

Our room 5 had an amazing view, and the bed was comfy. The hotel was clean overall and the staff were friendly. We had a great stay, but for what we paid, I wish the building and outdoor areas were better maintained and updated. The pool waterfall was off for half our stay, and on one day the water looked cloudy and dirty, so we couldn't swim. The pool isn't heated. Water from the shower also leaks all over the washroom floor, and the balcony flower beds were neglected.

I never expected to write something like this, but I feel obliged to warn other travelers, especially solo women and young people, about the risks I experienced with this listing. What should have been a simple stay became frightening and costly because the host did not communicate or take responsibility. I kept in touch with the host, Javier, over WhatsApp as the booking instructions asked. After I landed in a foreign country where I didn't speak the language, had little mobile data, and no backup place to stay, my booking platform suddenly told me my reservation had been canceled. The host hadn't warned or explained anything beforehand. I was panicked and felt vulnerable, with no immediate option except to search for another place or consider going home. He had my contact details but didn't notify me before canceling. He said it was because a previous guest had allegedly caused damage. My check-in was scheduled for 2 PM, which I'd confirmed the day before, so I have serious doubts the room had been inspected or prepared. The circumstances also make me question whether the listing is legitimate and whether the host can be relied on. Looking back at our WhatsApp messages, his claims about the previous guest's supposed behavior seemed speculative and troubling unless there was formal documentation from law enforcement. Even a courtesy message before I left would have given me a chance to make other plans instead of scrambling with almost no warning. Because of this, I had to find emergency lodging in a completely different part of the city at four times the price of my original booking. I understand unexpected problems can happen in hospitality, but the way this was handled was unacceptable. The host failed to communicate professionally or responsibly and showed no regard for my welfare, leaving me feeling unsafe and in a precarious position. For the safety and well-being of future travelers, I strongly advise avoiding this listing. The lack of professionalism and basic care makes it an extreme risk, particularly for solo travelers. I urge the booking platform to investigate this case thoroughly. No guest should have to go through this.
