Los Tules Villas del Sol

The room felt very dated, and the screens were coming off the sliding door and bathroom windows. There was a kitchen with appliances but nothing for breakfast, not even coffee or tea, so we had to go out and buy supplies. Vegan choices at the restaurant were very limited, and it shut on Tuesday for “maintenance.” The menu listed a vegan omelet, but it came with eggs and cheese, so it was vegetarian instead. There was no food or drink service by the beach or pool. We booked a deal for four days and three nights, then had to sit through a two-hour sales pitch to join as a “member.” If they wanted us to buy in, they should have made a better impression. Breakfast was supposed to be free, but that only applied on the morning of the pitch. We managed to get a complimentary breakfast on our last day. The property needs updating, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Such a gorgeous place, with lovely rooms, great service, and a fabulous restaurant right there. It felt really special. 💖

The beach was clean, the water warm, and the waves generally gentle except at high tide. Staff we met were all welcoming and greeted us with a smile. We were also able to walk back from a city tour, since downtown is only 2.5 miles away. There’s a mall across the street, and Soriana is handy for groceries. My sister and I stayed a week to celebrate her birthday. I booked a one-bedroom and expected a regular hotel room with a kitchenette, but it was more like an apartment, around 800 square feet or possibly larger. We could see the ocean from the living room and were right by the pool. She used the bedroom while I slept on the couch. You can shut the door between the main area and living room so you don’t disturb someone sleeping there. They say it fits five, though a sixth person could use the third couch. The kitchen had all the utensils, cutlery, and dishes we needed to cook.

A wonderful hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta, with amazing staff. We’ll definitely be back. 🌴
