Puerto de Luna Pet Friendly & Family Suites Hotel

It's a quieter resort with an older crowd, and the service is friendly. The pool was beautiful and clean, and breakfast was great. I loved the gardens, full of birds. There were lots of cute dogs around, plus a friendly blind cat that lounges by the pool. Check the carnival dates if you'd like quiet evenings. It was next door during our stay and got quite loud at night. That could be a plus for someone with young children.

The hotel pool is fabulous, and breakfast is good with lots of omelette choices. Staff are amazing and the customer service is great. There's a food park five minutes away for dinner and drinks, with great food at great prices.

We ended up cancelling, though fortunately they refunded the full amount. After we explained we hadn't used the room and had only been there about five minutes, they still made us wait while someone checked it, and asking why we were leaving made us uncomfortable. We'd booked at the last minute, but the wristband rule put us off straight away. They couldn't be removed during the stay, and when my husband said he would have chosen the other wrist if he'd known, the front desk person just shrugged, said "sorry," and seemed irritated. Their pet-friendly description also felt misleading to us: as far as I know, they only accept dogs, which must be kept in a kennel when you're out of the room and wear a ribbon around the neck. A pile of old, dirty, broken remotes was the final straw. The place gave us bad vibes.

We booked this at the last minute because it looked affordable for one night, but it was the worst experience. Our room was on the top floor, and my partner and I had to haul two 55 lb bags up there since there’s no elevator. We were getting bitten all night in bed. I can’t tell if it was fleas or bed bugs, but I woke up covered in bites. If I’d known, I never would’ve booked here. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless you bring a pet. 🙁
