Hotel Maria Dolores Rio Verde

There are little paths and places to sit around the grounds, so you can enjoy the outdoors quietly away from the sizeable pool. The gardens are lovely, with lots of plants and fruit trees, and everything is well cared for. I've stayed several times, and the grounds, rooms, and pool have always been pristine. The rooms are very clean, and the staff are friendly.

I keep coming back for the friendly staff and the price. The pool is awesome, and the service is great. Rooms vary, and some are pretty small. Not everything works, including some outlets and shower doors, and one room had plumbing that smelled. Compared with other hotels around here, it's better than most, though against hotel chains I'd call it three stars. The staff are trying, and I think they can do better. Kudos!

We'd just finished a long drive, so we had no choice but to stay. My daughter didn't want to sleep there. The first room was dirty, and I called the office right away to tell them it hadn't been cleaned at all. The second one looked even worse. I'd expected the place to be nice and clean when we arrived.

They switched me from a bad first room to a beautiful suite, and the second room was fantastic. The first one was old, with a shower and lights that didn't work. The restaurant was very nice and the food was great. The staff seemed stretched thin and a bit frustrated.
