Rosarito Beach Apartments (walking distance to Papas n Beer)

The front desk staff were kind, but the hotel felt dark and unwelcoming, almost as if it were closed. In the tower where we stayed, you needed a wristband to go upstairs, which made visits from local friends and family inconvenient. I realize many hotels do this, but it was still a hassle. We waited 15 minutes at the bar without getting served, and the staff seemed wrapped up in their own world, so we left for somewhere up the street. The people at the food bar looked friendly and hardworking, though I didn't eat at the restaurant. I want service and I'm willing to pay for it. The hotel could use room service, more staff, and more shops. In hindsight, an Airbnb in a private home that welcomes visitors might have suited us better.

The resort's location was nice, but we hardly slept all weekend because college students were staying on our floor. We asked to change rooms, and the lobby attendant said we'd have to pay the difference for another room. On the second night we called the lobby about four times while the kids played loud music from 1 a.m. until around 4 and shouted in the halls. Security didn't step in. It was a horrible stay and experience.

Leaving was the hardest part of the stay. I had a great birthday weekend at the Pacific tower, with an amazing view from the 11th floor. The reception attendants were extremely kind and made me feel welcome. A few things fell short. One elevator was out on Saturday and still down Sunday morning, so the other one got packed and moved painfully slowly, about 10 seconds per floor. My last room service order was supposed to include two smoothies and a pizza, but I got only one smoothie, and the pizza was barely warm. The smoothie was just okay. The bedroom TV wasn't even 1080p, which needs an update if the place is going to call itself luxurious, though I know I wasn't in a penthouse suite. I look forward to coming back, maybe to a different building that fits my budget better. Thanks!

The front desk staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The hotel also has wheelchair ramps throughout, and guests can take a wheelchair onto the pier from the first floor southwest of the lobby for free. Non-guests pay $6, refundable if they visit one of the businesses on the pier. We booked for the weekend of 03/14/2026. The hotel is inside a shopping center and shares parking with other businesses, so finding a spot was difficult. Our room was $130 a night, clean but outdated, with a small balcony facing the beach and pier. We knew about the dated room when we booked by phone. There's a remodeled wing on the other side, but those rooms cost more. There's a medium-sized pool and a hot tub overlooking the beach, plus a smaller pool with a slide closer to the water. Music nearby went on until about 5 a.m., though we couldn't hear it in the room. It was a nice experience overall.
