Hotel Posada Primavera

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the washroom stayed clean. Housekeeping came every day to change the towels, make the bed, and leave everything VERY tidy. My husband and I had a great experience at Hotel Posada Primavera and will surely return. It's a quick 10min walk to the main attractions, and the hotel has a really authentic aesthetic. Ezekiel and the staff were friendly and patient with our minimal Spanish, helping us book the tours we needed and suggesting great places to eat and shop. We sincerely appreciated it all.

The service was very friendly, and the WiFi worked well throughout the building. It's a wonderful colonial building, kept in impeccable condition. The rooms are big and cosy, with an extra large bed that was perfect for relaxing.

The staff were great and the location was nice, but our room was dark, cold, and very small despite having two double beds. There was no heater or anything similar. There's no restaurant or room service, though plenty of places to eat and drink nearby...

What upset us most was being refused two extra blankets. San Cristobal gets cold, and even though the hotel seemed to have only five guests, they wouldn't provide them. I wasn't asking for a space heater, just blankets. The clerk first told us to wait and see if we needed them, but I didn't want to wake up cold in the night and go to the front desk. After a long wait, a very sweet bell boy brought us one blanket. I didn't want to keep begging, and we were so frustrated by this policy that we packed up and left to stay with friends in their apartment. There was no misunderstanding. We speak fluent Spanish and explained clearly what we wanted. It didn't seem to be a staffing issue either. The front desk clerk wouldn't give us a straight answer, so I suspect the policy was not to hand out extra blankets. Why have a rule like that? I've stayed in many hotels and AIRBNBs all over Mexico and Latin America, and I'm not a fussy traveler. I've never left a negative TripAdvisor review before. This hotel is supposed to be very nice, and it isn't cheap by San Cristobal standards. Have you ever stayed somewhere even semi-nice where they wouldn't give you an extra blanket? Posada Primavera management, before doing anything else, please let your employees give guests extra blankets when they ask. Don't tell people it isn't really cold or to wait until they feel cold. Just give them a blanket.
