Grand Hotel, Hotel Boutique Tepatitlán

The Aida room was lovely and clean. Martin, Fanny, and the manager were so helpful and had wonderful personalities. The place felt welcoming, the food was great, and they took care of whatever we needed. We also got a one-hour massage at a great price. I'd definitely recommend it.

I stayed in the Thai room, one of the hotel's thirteen themed rooms. It was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed and lots of thoughtful details. The hotel is right in central Tepatitlan, with several restaurants nearby, and the service was outstanding. A few things weren't quite right: the sink drained very slowly, the TV was a little small, and stuffing spilled from some pillows that were fastened with Velcro. The shower water was dangerously hot and hard to control, with a real risk of burns. Even with those problems, this is a luxurious, spectacular place, and I'd gladly stay again.

We're only on day two of six, but already feel like we'll want to come back to this gem in such a lovely town. The plaza is just a couple of blocks away, with places to eat and shop and a mix of old and new architecture to enjoy. Our Aida room, with its Egyptian theme, is spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated. Breakfast this morning was especially good: a vegetarian omelet with fresh muffins and birote, plus housemade strawberry jelly. The staff are friendly and attentive to everything we need, and already feel like close friends and family.

Tere's cheerful help when I called about cancelling, and her follow-up calls, convinced us to keep our plans after the wedding we were attending was cancelled. From arrival on, every staff interaction was excellent. We first stayed in the beautiful Rangel room, then moved to Neruda the next day because my husband was curious about another room. Both were grand, full of thoughtful details, and beyond what we expected. Moving around the hotel, we kept finding more care and richness in the design, decor, and guest attention. The staff are humble and cheerful, the food is excellent, and the installations are astonishingly clean and detailed. We fell for this hidden gem in Tepatitlán, Jalisco, and will return when our next adventure brings us back to this corner of the world. Thank you, Tere!
