The hotel itself is gorgeous, the location is beautiful, and I had no problems with the hotel during my stay. I saw whales from my window, enjoyed the pools, and loved the shrimp tacos. Victor, Oliver, and Alan at the pool bar were friendly, fun, and fantastic. The front-line staff were warm and professional. I’d recommend the hotel, but I’d strongly advise turning down the Royal Holiday presentation. A few minutes after I checked in, I was directed to what they called a “welcome breakfast.” It turned out to be an on-site Royal Holiday timeshare presentation. I was told I’d get three incentives for attending: a discounted activity, a discounted spa credit, and a 2400 peso dining voucher. I sat through the full presentation in good faith and was given the vouchers in person. Yurian, the representative who went over pricing, specifically told me to collect vouchers for “all the things promised to you.” Two days later, I tried to use the 2400 peso voucher at checkout, but the sales office refused to honor it. The reason they gave had never been mentioned during the presentation and went against what I’d been told. The terms changed only when I tried to redeem it, and it was the highest-value voucher. The hotel said it had no authority over the timeshare department. Royal Holiday said I was “no longer eligible” because I’d marked “single” but mentioned having a boyfriend, who is not my husband, even though they had already issued the voucher. Royal Holiday corporate then said it had no oversight of promotional incentives and sent me back to the hotel’s main phone number. They gave me no direct contact for sales management, despite my explaining everything and knowing I’d get the same runaround. It left me in a closed loop: the incentives got me to attend, the vouchers were issued, redemption was refused, and nobody took responsibility. My complaint is specifically about Royal Holiday and its bait-and-switch tactics.

The food was amazing. We had the breakfast package and ate lunch and dinner there as well, but service was slow and often inattentive. We had to flag someone down several times for tea or water refills, while servers kept offering refills to people ordering alcohol. That left us feeling unwelcome at times. The strangest moment was a large rodent climbing out of the cabinet beside me at the breakfast buffet and using my shoe to pull itself out of the hole. Rodents probably exist at other resorts too, but it was unusual to have one get that close during dining hours. Our club suite was mostly nice, with two full bathrooms, a kitchenette, and a sofa bed, so it could sleep four to six. It seems better suited to a stay of a week or more. The spa tub was a filthy, neglected mess. If the filters aren’t maintained, they should replace those tubs with soaking tubs. It was the worst spa tub I’ve come across on vacation, and I’ve seen some gross ones. The resort fits into the natural rocky hillside, which we liked. We were in building B, fairly central, and didn’t mind the stairs and steep roads to reach the restaurant, store, pool, and beach. You can call a bellhop in a large golf cart if you don’t want to walk, but then you have to wait. The welcome package was a hard sell for the timeshare. They kept pushing us to attend Saturday morning and reminding us it was our only chance before checking out Sunday. No thanks. The heated pool was ice cold on Saturday morning. It had rained unusually for December in the two days before and on our arrival day. We spent about an hour trying to make the best of it. Around 20 minutes in, we noticed they’d finally switched the heat on through vents along the wall, but these large pools should have been heated hours before opening at 9 a.m. We enjoyed our short two-night stay, but too much needs improvement for us to return. I’d rather find somewhere in Cabo with a swimmable beach, if such a place exists, friendlier staff, and no hard sales pitch, if that exists. This was probably our only Cabo trip, a short stop before a much bigger adventure leaving from La Paz, and I have little interest in flying back into Cabo.

It’s a pleasant walk from the rooms higher up to the pools, and the quiet and views make it worthwhile. We had large jet tubs facing the ocean in each room. The rooms are a bit dated, but everything was clean and worked. This is a good place for a laid-back, relaxing trip away from the usual Cabo San Luca vibe. The service was great and everyone friendly. The pools weren’t crowded, the beach was beautiful, and each room had a gorgeous view. Waking up and going to bed with the orange sky was priceless. I only wish they’d shared more about the hotel, food choices, and activities at the start instead of giving us a speech about becoming members.

The food was the weak spot. Breakfast at $25 was okay, but nothing special. Lunch looked good without tasting especially good. The ceviche in red sauce disappointed, and even basics like guacamole and pico de gallo sometimes fell below standard. At a place operating at this level, the food needs serious work. You generally can’t swim in Cabo because it’s too dangerous. The facility itself is beautiful, spotless, and well maintained, with excellent views. The pools were clean, cared for, and never overcrowded, which made them genuinely enjoyable. The Wi-Fi was reliable and excellent throughout the property.

Victor, Sebastian, and Eduardo made our Club Regina trip so enjoyable with their thoughtful hospitality. They helped with recommendations and around the resort, and greeted us with a smile each day. Their genuine kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel welcome and well cared for. It’s rare to meet a team so proud of looking after guests. Club Regina is lucky to have them, and we’re grateful.
