There are plenty of local restaurants nearby, and the supermarket is close, so eating out each night worked better for us. The hotel is older and could use some attention, but the atmosphere is relaxed and it suits a cheap holiday. I wouldn't choose it again. We booked through Expedia expecting all-inclusive, then were told on arrival that we'd have to pay extra. We tried it for a day, but the food was just okay and the drinks bland, so we stopped. Someone at the hotel said this mix-up with Expedia happens often. Check carefully whether your booking includes all-inclusive. The rooms were clean. There's just one small pool, and the water was cool.

A flight cancellation left us needing one more night near the airport, right on the beach, at a reasonable price. This place fit what we needed, and the breakfast buffet was really good. We took a $5 Uber into the cute town to explore. It turned an unexpected extra day into a nice part of the trip.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beach location is great, but we left after our first night of our late-February honeymoon. Construction noise was impossible to get away from, with jackhammers audible in the room, by the pool, and on the beach, even on Saturday morning. The walls are very thin, so people outside sounded like they were in our room. The bed was uncomfortable, the sheets scratchy, and the food a huge letdown. We just couldn't relax.

We've been coming for 15 years, and the food is great. Some of the staff remember us, and they're very friendly. If you need something or want to arrange a special dinner, they'll do their best to help. It's an older resort, but that's why we can afford to stay 7 to 10 days. The places around here cost over $1,000 a night. They may be newer and remodeled, but we don't think they're worth that. We know what to expect here, and the price is the reason we keep returning.
