Royal Solaris Los Cabos & Spa - All Inclusive

The pool slides were a big hit with the kids, and there's a wide choice of food. We had a great family vacation at Royal Solaris Los Cabos. The rooms were clean, the refrigerator was a decent size, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. It seems like a great all-inclusive for families with young children, and we'd recommend it for a fun getaway.

The people who made the trip special were Luis at the beach bar, Fabiola, who served us several evenings, Edson at the Mexican restaurant, and Toscano at the lobby bar. Luigi, Alex, and Emmanuel usually served breakfast and got our day off to a great start. The breakfast buffet was always good, with great service, and the little Deli's snacks and specialty coffee were a treat. I had soy lattes every day. We were there for 14 days. The resort was easy to get around, very clean, with friendly staff, and our room was lovely and just what we'd requested. But our travel agent and the website gave us the impression there was no limit on a la carte meals. It turned out we were allowed seven meals, then had to use the app to book. The website crashed several times, and even when we tried early or days ahead, restaurants only seemed available at 9 p.m. We had to ask the front desk several times to make bookings. That's not how we wanted to spend our holiday. The a la carte dress code wasn't enforced, and some diners wore flip-flops, hats, or bathing suits. The food was mediocre at best. The beach's deep, soft sand made walking difficult for miles, and warnings meant we couldn't go in the ocean. The pool was really cold, and people got loungers before 7 a.m. despite signs saying not to reserve them. The hot tub was dirty, and we had to find staff to turn on the jets.

Getting dinner reservations was pretty much impossible, so we ate at the buffet four of our five nights. It was fine, though I wish we'd had a chance to try other food. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and an omelet station. We loved Fredy and asked for him each time we ate. We just got back from five days at Royal Solaris and had a wonderful time. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the balcony very large. The pool and beach were clean too, but we had to get up early to find a chair. The beach towels were only bath-towel size, so I wish they had proper beach towels. All the staff were friendly.

We didn't try to go to the night shows because we were always in bed. The a la carte restaurants were enjoyable enough, and the food was definitely better than the buffet. We got three reservations with our stay through the app, and they also fit me in as an individual on two other nights. The resort was very clean, the housekeeping staff exceptional, and the kids club was a highlight of our weeklong family trip. Cesar, Samadhi, Reyna, and Israel ran activities the kids looked forward to every day. The staff in general were friendly and attentive. We saw reviews about non-members getting treated differently, but that wasn't an issue for us, aside from having fewer breakfast choices. A few things could be better: the buffet had lots of options, but apart from the omelet station, everything was just okay, though the servers were great. The pizza stand and snack bar need more servers, since one person can only move so fast. A bartender making the occasional round by the kids' pool would help, since many families spend their time there. The pools felt quite cool, despite the website saying they're heated. The daytime weather was pleasantly warm, around 25 degrees Celsius, and early mornings cooled to about 16. The place may not feel as high-end as some resorts, though I don't have much experience to compare. We found it clean, the staff were exceptional, and I'd happily return.
