Hotel Mariazel

Finding a room for all of us was a relief. We were traveling as a family and needed three beds, and Hotel Mariazel had a great setup at the top of the stairs, with one double bed and two singles. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good. The host family was thoughtful and kind, and the price was good too. We slept well, with restaurants and food within walking distance. After seeing the old beds and tiny bathrooms at other small hotels in the Center of Bernal, this place felt like a blessing.

There’s a nice view from the window by the stairs, and you’re surrounded by restaurants and souvenir shops. The price is reasonable, and the top floor has a room for parties or reunions, with a kitchen and bathrooms. You can smoke outside your room, though there isn’t a designated smoking area. There’s no access for people with disabilities, but you can stay on the first floor.

The hot water was nice, and the towels and blankets were excellent. The place was clean, too. They were doing repairs at 11 pm, then again at 6 am, with a lot of noise both times. The internet was awful, especially at night, and there was no soap in the bathroom. Apart from those things, everything was perfect.

We stayed on August 13, and it was a big disappointment for such a charming place. The afternoon staff, both the young man and the woman, were rude, unfriendly, and not helpful at all. They answered us as if they were doing us a favor, with such sour faces that they seemed unable to stand themselves. If you're visiting Bernal, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The manager or owners need to pay more attention to the people they hire. With attitudes like that, tourists won't come back. Blessings.
