Quinta Maruca

The hacienda-style look worked for me, and the place is built and decorated with natural rock from the Peña, surrounded by lots of greenery. Our family room was reasonably priced, clean, and had a spectacular view of the Peña and town. Engineer Mejía, the owner, was very helpful. The only drawback was getting there, since it's on the way up to the Peña.

It's a shame the view is beautiful and the place is close to the cliff, because that's about all it has going for it. The mattresses are old and uncomfortable, the room facilities are VERY old, and the rooms are cold. There was NO HOT WATER, the cable TV had only 3 channels, and the bathroom was dirty and damp. The staff might be nice, but everything else was awful. I couldn't relax at all. I just wanted to go home and sleep comfortably.

The property is nice, and the rooms are private, clean, and spacious. The staff are very friendly. It's not luxurious, though, and driving in can be difficult because it's on the road up to the Peña, where the cars and people going both ways make things chaotic.

You feel at home here. The owner is a great host, and the lady who works there is very attentive. I liked the place, but the bathroom needs cleaning, especially the shower and toilet bowl, which is really important.
