Casa Samay Cozumel

The front patio was a lovely place to hang out, and the kitchen was spotless. Casa Samay was clean and cozy, and renting bikes or arranging snorkelling and diving through Miri Adventures made planning easy. Miri, one of the owners, is bubbly and welcoming, and as a professional dive instructor she puts safety first. Anya, the dive master trainee, is very skilled, and they both made my dives enjoyable. I also went on a night dive with Roberto, another instructor. He was knowledgeable and patient, and the dive was a lot of fun and unforgettable. I’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting Cozumel.

I liked the laid-back atmosphere and how nice everyone was, so I ended up staying an extra night. The hostel is small and cozy, and the staff really went out of their way when I said I needed strong wifi for remote work. The wifi was amazing. Cleanliness could be better, and the kitchen utensils too, though that seemed much like other hostels in Mexico. Their diving guides are amazing as well.

The staff made us feel right at home and helped arrange some great activities. Miri gave us a private surfing lesson and took us night snorkelling. Both were reasonably priced and easy to book, even on the same day. My partner and I had a fantastic stay in a clean, spacious private room. The hostel is in a safe, walkable area with lots of good food nearby. Highly recommend!

Casa Samay is in a nice neighbourhood, with the beach and main strip both walkable. It has a great social feel for meeting people, but is peaceful at night when you want to sleep. The hostel has everything you might need, including bikes and snorkel gear for rent, good internet, and a full kitchen. They can also arrange activities like reef diving, surf lessons, and transport. I’d strongly recommend it and plan to come back.
