The beach is right outside, with shops nearby, and the town has a friendly small-town feel. The sunsets are hard to beat. We also enjoyed the delicious restaurant food, and the hotel itself was clean. Staff were easy to work with and went out of their way to make sure guests had a good stay. Great hotel and prices.
The patio is a great spot, and the place is clean. There's a bar and restaurant by the pool that opened in the last couple of years, and their margaritas are great. You can get a beachfront room for 650 pesos, which is the best deal on the beach. Staff are helpful, though communication can be difficult because of the language barrier. It's not a fancy hotel, but the location makes up for that. Booking from a distance can be tricky sometimes. We know people who spend three months in Melaque, so they usually book a room for us in person.
The bed was decent, but the room felt worn and overdue for a remodel. I had a double bed, and the TV was a 14-inch tube model. You have to leave a deposit to use its remote. There's no refrigerator, microwave, or AC.
The rooms are kept clean, and I love that the hotel is centrally located right on the beach.
It has the basics you need for a couple of vacation days. An okay place.
