Casa Santiago Hotel Boutique

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms looked newly renovated. Staff were excellent, friendly, professional, and attentive, and the location near the centro made it easy to walk to attractions, restaurants, and shops. A couple of things made the stay disappointing. The listing said parking was on-site, but it wasn't. We did find underground parking nearby, though the listing should have been accurate. The gym was another reason we chose the hotel, but it was permanently closed despite being listed as available. The biggest problem was the air conditioning. It never cooled our room below 25°C (77°F), and with no windows for cooler night air, sleeping was uncomfortable. Reception said 25°C was the lowest setting and adjusted it a little, but it still wasn't enough. We slept without sheets or blankets. We wouldn't stay again and would suggest looking elsewhere.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the price was good. It's right in the Old Town center. At night they lock the front door, but a security guard can let you in. Apart from my concern about fire safety, that was only a minor issue.

We've come to Casa Santiago every year for years to visit family, and the rooms are still good. The service, though, is terrible. There's nobody at the desk to help before 8 am or after 8 pm. Our key card failed every time we returned to the room, and there was no one to assist. The watchman answers calls but doesn't know anything. And I couldn't get coffee before 8:30 am. Ugh.

The hotel is magnificent and close to the city. Rai at reception was amazing!!
