Hotel Posada de Tampico

The airport shuttle runs both ways, which I liked, and my room was very clean and orderly. The staff were friendly and helpful. I also loved the restaurant food: my ribeye was cooked exactly how I like it, medium rare, and the cajeta bread was fantastic. I’d definitely recommend this place, and I know I’ll be back.

I was starting to warm to this place. The pool and the area around it were enjoyable, and the restaurant was good. Staff at both the restaurant and front office were polite. The facilities and room are showing their age, but they were still clean and neat. When our relatives came to visit, staff were so cautious that we ended up doing any future socializing somewhere else.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The service staff were polite and helpful, but the front desk staff weren’t. They got our reservations wrong and charged us too much. The food was poor, and part of our order never came. Our rooms were old, damp, and humid. The AC was broken in the first room, so we asked to move, but it didn’t work in the second room either. The heat and humidity made it hard for me, my husband, and the kids to sleep. When we told the front desk, they basically said there was nothing they could do. If the hotel presents itself as prestigious, it should deliver on that promise. Guests who are uncomfortable and unhappy should have the problem addressed, especially when they’re paying a high price for an experience they aren’t getting.

It’s attached to Gamma, for half the price. The rooms could use an upgrade, but I don’t have much to complain about. The shower ceiling is low enough that I hit my head while moving around.
