Areté

The whole stay was poor, with no real sense of customer service. We were promised a welcome drink and breakfast, but had to call a guy over and show him they were included before he accepted it. The rooms weren't ready when we arrived at 6 PM, even though we were the first guests of the week, so we waited a long time to get in. I was offered a double bed but got one bed. Mattresses and pillows were old and worn, and the sheets were thin. Items listed on the site were missing, including an ironing board, iron, hair dryer, towels, and extra pillows. I had to keep asking, and sometimes they didn't have them at all. Getting in and out meant ringing a doorbell and waiting for staff to open and close the door. That same bell rings loudly in the room hallways, and people keep pressing it depending on how patient or impatient they are, at any hour of the day or night. The hollow doors also let you hear everything in other rooms. I visited in February and was hugely disappointed. This shouldn't be called a hotel, more like someone's house with a superintendent, and not even a proper B&B. It should be rated two stars for cleanliness and be an Airbnb or hostel, NOT A HOTEL!
