Hotel Valle Místico

The garden and the view are lovely, and the rooms are clean and nice. The staff are doing their best to make guests comfortable, but the location caused us a lot of trouble. It's very remote, with no shops nearby, not even a small one. Without a car, you're left with a one-hour walk into town or taxis that cost around 800 pesos a day. Some drivers may refuse because the road is so bad. I spent as much on taxis as I did on the accommodation. The included breakfast was expensive for what it was, just eggs with bacon, coffee, and juice, in a very small portion. I don't think it's good value. There are plenty of quiet hotels like this one in better locations, so I'd look elsewhere.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the view was wonderful. Being a few minutes outside the town center suited us for a quiet, relaxing break. Rooms have a kitchen and bathroom, and the upstairs ones come with a lovely balcony and hammock. I would stay again, though some shared furniture in the pool and garden areas needs attention. The fridge also gets quite noisy when plugged in.

The shared area and view are spectacular, and restaurant service was excellent, though the food was average. The room photos were misleading for the price: it felt more like a hut than a villa, and we would probably have to kill a few insects in the room by the end of the night. The road there is rough, but passable.

We rented the hotel's Airbnb, Casa Valle Mistico, and it was absolutely superb. The house is fairly new, with great amenities and everything we needed, plus we could order food from the hotel restaurant. The garden is huge, and from up the hill there's an amazing view over Tepoztlan and the mountains. It's only 1h30 from CDMX, so a great weekend option.
