Nequi Hotel Boutique

We were told ours was their best room, but even basic things were missing: no ice bucket or mini fridge. The pool was supposed to be heated, according to the owner, but it wasn’t when I checked yesterday. There are 37 steps up to the room and no elevator. The jacuzzi tub was no use to me because I was told there was no hot water, and two people can’t shower one after the other since the water cuts out completely. Construction noise went on all day and night, with electric saws and welding, and this morning hammering at the house next door woke me just before 8. The bar music was loud and carried on late into the night.

Ricardo, the manager, and the staff really helped when electricity from the city of Tepoztlán cut out temporarily. They gave affected guests a free night and dinner, which was much appreciated. Thanks to Mauricio, Elizabeth, Ricardo, and the whole team for a great weekend over three nights. The staff were attentive, the rooms clean and air conditioned, and there was food and drink available all day by the pool and jacuzzi. The weekend buffet breakfast was tasty, and the à la carte options like tacos were good too. Plenty of drinks at the bar, plus a huge rooftop jacuzzi that fits 30 or more people. The Nequi team knows how to give guests a great experience. See you soon 🤝

Nequi has been an oasis for me in Tepoztlan, and I travel all over America and the world. It’s just a few steps from downtown, and the location is staggering. Ask for a poolside view, it feels like paradise. The hotel is brand new, with cozy Mexican suites and a great jacuzzi equipped with modern technology. Enrique, the Operational Manager, is kind and always ready to give advice and support. The owner is bilingual and a lifelong traveler, so he understands what guests need. Don’t miss the amazing breakfast or the huge rooftop jacuzzi. I’ll definitely be back!

After I complained, the owner and staff sent me messages with a really rude attitude. I had to report them and then block them. I even replied politely to the owner, saying that if he cares about the hotel, he should read its Google reviews and stop having staff add fake reviews to make it look good. I’ll post the screenshots here. What happened to me yesterday matters less than being messaged with such a bad attitude and harassed.
