Hotel San Jose

The hotel is in a great central spot, and the young woman who welcomed us was very friendly. Still, my stay felt mixed. The rooms are basic, which makes sense for the price, but the owners could pay more attention to details. We asked for a few things that were forgotten, and it happened more than once. The pillows were all over the place in size. We got one small one and another about twice as tall. My sister asked for an extra, hoping for a smaller pillow, but the one she got was three times as tall and had no pillowcase, so she couldn't use it. The next day, since we were checking out, we asked a different receptionist to bring a smaller, covered pillow to the room. She said she would swap it, but it never showed up. Rest matters when you rent a hotel room, and the noise at night was an issue. The first night, guests were talking loudly to each other from one end of the place to the other. I told the receptionist, and the second night was much better, with only normal noise. On the third night, people were banging loudly on the gate and talking right outside our door after 11 pm. It sounded like shouting, and from inside our room it felt as if they were right in there. I had to get up and ask them to keep their voices down. The hotel should have a rule about lowering voices after a certain hour. These things seem easy to fix. I hope this is taken as constructive feedback and not taken badly. Thank you for being kind.

This is about the manager, who needs training so she stops scamming people. I asked for a room yesterday, and everything seemed fine. She requested my voter ID, or offered to take a 100-peso deposit instead. When I checked out today, I asked for the money back, but a housekeeper said the manager had made a mistake. They still didn't return it. To me, taking a guest's money like that is stealing. I won't come back to this hotel. That so-called manager leaves a lot to be desired.

The shower sent a lot of water onto the bathroom floor, which was the one downside. Otherwise, the hotel was comfortable, with great service and a very good location and price. I'd definitely stay again.

A really bad stay. The hotel was dirty and full of bugs, and there was no Wi-Fi.
