City Express by Marriott Tijuana Insurgentes

The location worked well, right across from a big mall, and the room was fairly spacious. We had a problem with the AC, but the staff moved us to another room. I was disappointed there wasn’t a refrigerator. It’s an okay place.

We had three rooms as a group, but nobody got any rest because they were so hot and there was no A/C. No one slept that night. It was a terrible stay, poor value, and we won’t be coming back.

More than 30 people seemed to be waiting for rooms, and I was left waiting for over an hour and a half after check-in time. It looked like a large group had a work contract, and management handled it badly. Since I paid more, my room should have been prioritized.

We arrived to check in at 3 PM and the front desk employee just walked off to talk to a manager without telling us what was happening. She was rude, and only after my wife asked did we learn they’d overbooked and canceled our reservation without notifying us. My family and I were left without a room in Tijuana. No apology or help was offered, and I’m seriously thinking about filing a complaint with the Mexican Consumer Affairs office. Avoid staying here if you can. If you do book, have a backup plan ready.
