Hotel Tlaxcala

The coffee maker was the one good thing. We expected a reasonably comfortable hotel, but the noise was awful, and there was a huge party next door. The bed creaked badly, and the shower barely trickled. Its temperature swung from scalding to freezing within minutes, and the showerhead looked like it hadn't been replaced in ages. If you need a place to rest, this is a very bad choice.

For that price, I'd look elsewhere. The room was acceptable, but the bathroom smelled strongly of sewage and seemed badly neglected.

The room was clean and adequate, and the staff were friendly. It's close to the city center, with parking on site. My experience would have been better with an outside-facing window and natural ventilation, so I'd ask for that when booking. Some rooms face an interior courtyard instead. Heat, restaurant noise, and smells come in from downstairs, and without ventilation or air conditioning those rooms get quite hot. The architecture could be better designed. The room itself was fine, but air conditioning would help in the rooms without outside ventilation.

I only had lunch at the restaurant. The buffet was tasty and fairly priced, though the fruit was disappointingly bland 😕. Maybe they could put more time or money into offering edible fruit. The market is only two blocks away 🙄.
