The resort is beautiful, but for a place where I paid over $600 a night for an oceanfront room, the service fell far short. There wasn’t a concierge reliably on site. We were told to text a WhatsApp number, and replies could be slow. The bike rental arrangements were a mess. The concierge promised a bike for 8 a.m., then messaged just 15 minutes before that she couldn’t provide it. I agreed to wait until 10, but it was delayed again until 11. I only found out about the second delay after asking. The chat screenshots show this. The worst problem was water flooding my balcony after guests upstairs carelessly left their outdoor tub running. I got splashed and had to change, and my phone got wet. I couldn’t charge it for the rest of the night while it dried. Other electronics or valuables could have been damaged beyond repair. The loungers were soaked and unusable for the rest of the day and night. The water ran for 10 minutes before staff stopped it, and nobody came to clean the balcony. Even more disappointing, the concierge wouldn’t take responsibility for what happened, as the screenshots show. A complimentary margarita would have been enough for me, but instead I felt completely dismissed. I asked to speak to a manager on site and was told there wasn’t one. When I asked for a phone number or email, they gave me only the reservations email. I wrote out what had happened and waited two weeks before posting this review, but nobody replied. I believe guest behavior at a hotel is within the hotel’s control and part of its responsibility. I’d assumed a top-tier hospitality place like Azulik would care about guest satisfaction and take accountability. Sadly, I was wrong.

Paula and Melanie took such good care of us, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The hotel itself was the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed: a beach bathtub, private plunge pools, porches with swinging beds, and jungle all around. It was peaceful and exceptionally beautiful. What a special trip!

I didn’t book a room, so I can’t comment on the rooms. I went up for the rooftop sunset, and the architecture alone is amazing. The DJ kept the energy up and played great music. Admission is 1000 pesos and includes a drink. I instead had two tacos and a Corona, which came to 570 pesos. The waiter brought the tacos but didn’t provide napkins or cutlery, so the table service could be better.

The ceremonies made this stay feel like more than a romantic getaway. We went to the sound healing twice, and both times it felt immersive and powerful. The vibrations seemed to move through every layer, quieting my mind and stirring something deeper. Time seemed to disappear; it was grounding and expansive at once. The cacao ceremony felt intimate and heart-opening, while the temazcal was intense in a good way, almost like a cleansing rebirth. Morning yoga was beautiful too. The teacher guided more than poses: she brought a calm, grounded, attentive presence and created a space that felt safe, supportive, and transformative. It was about breath, body, and awareness rather than performance, and the movements felt connected to nature. The jungle, soft nighttime lighting, privacy, and intimate atmosphere all encouraged us to slow down. This place offers depth, healing, and a chance to reconnect with yourself, nature, and the person you’re with. For romance with meaning, this is it.

The room itself was nice, but the rest was a huge disappointment. They advertise room service, yet you have to go to the restaurant to order. We also tried to have dinner on the rooftop, but non-hotel guests were drinking at every table. We were told it was first come, first served. Nobody offered another option or gave hotel guests priority. The photos suggest a perfect romantic escape, but there’s no privacy between rooms. There are no curtains, and guests in three other rooms could see straight into ours. It was very uncomfortable. I paid 3,500 Canadian dollars for two nights and felt it was worth $400 at most. Scam.
