It's not near the sea, but I really liked this hotel. The design is great, the room has a balcony, and it's quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the price feels well worth it.

The location is hard to beat, with restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby. We were looking to rest, so the fact that most rooms don't have windows didn't bother us, but make sure to book a room with windows if that's important to you. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and clean, the A/C worked perfectly, and the TV was nice and big. The rooftop was also lovely. We had a small issue with the room assignment, but before we even raised it, the front desk man came over and offered to move us. That thoughtful service, along with the kind attention from everyone at Calea, made this an incredible stay for the price.

Calea Tulum was quiet and peaceful, exactly what I needed for four days and three nights. It's a new hotel in Aldea Zama, opened on December, and the room was spacious. The mattress and pillows felt like memory foam and were very comfortable. There was no morning construction noise during my visit, despite what some earlier reviews had mentioned. Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, and I worked remotely without any trouble on video calls. The reception staff were lovely, especially the blond receptionist, who spoke English well and was friendly and helpful. A few things weren't ideal, though minor. The elevator wasn't working, so the receptionist carried my bag up to the second floor when I arrived, and I brought it down myself at checkout. I also rented a bike through the hotel's outdoor rental company for 150 MXN a day. The chain came off while I was riding at the beach, and I had to walk back for an hour and a half. The bikes didn't seem well maintained, and I don't think the hotel should rent them out. They didn't charge me for it, and the blond receptionist helped sort it out. Some loud, inconsiderate people stayed next door and disturbed the peace, playing music in the daytime and making noise early in the morning with slamming doors and loud talking. It wasn't the hotel's fault, but the thin walls carried the sound. Even so, I had a great stay at a good nightly price and would return.

The staff were welcoming and hospitable, and we had a very convenient location. Spas, several restaurants, a 7-Eleven, and a yoga studio were all within walking distance. We got upgraded to a two-story apartment with a refrigerator, hot plate, pots and pans, three A/C units, one in each bedroom and one in the living room, plus three balconies and comfortable beds. Construction started at 8am during our weeklong stay, but we managed. They didn't provide washcloths, an iron, blow dryers, or a hot tub, and rooms are cleaned every three days. For the affordable price, we were fine with all of that. We enjoyed staying at Calea Tulum and hope to visit again. Thank you 🥂

Good value for the money, and a very nice hotel. Diana at reception is professional, polite, and always willing to help.
