Casa Altamar

Arturo was the host we dealt with most, and he was kind, helpful, and very accommodating. Lunch and dinner were amazing. The hotel is ideal if you’re after peace and relaxation, with a scenic beach and pier. They also provide kayaks and paddle boards free of charge, which is a big bonus. I’d recommend having a car, since downtown Tulum and the hotel zone are a long walk for most people.

Eric is a fantastic chef, making creative dishes with fresh ingredients, and the restaurant’s menu and cocktails were both amazing. Eric, Armin, and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. We got engaged here, with a beautiful view over the ocean and a calm, clean beach right in front. We haven’t stayed at the hotel yet, so this is about the restaurant, staff, and beach. My wife and I first found Altamar a few years ago and have returned each year for the food and the shore. The food is incredible, and the staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The bay is stunning, and the beach is so peaceful. Snorkeling is great here, especially out by the break. Highly recommend!

The people working at Casa Altamar made this holiday especially memorable. They put so much effort into making the stay relaxing and enjoyable. We loved the outstanding food, and you could even have a casual lunch served on the beach. Breakfast was no longer offered, but complimentary coffee, fruit, and toast were provided; we could also order delicious smoothies to our loungers. Other hotels within walking distance serve breakfast, but we preferred the food here. We spent a week relaxing by the clean pool and on the lovely beach, with comfortable sun loungers. The kayak, paddle boards, and snorkels were free to use. Our clean room had a great sea view. It felt like a little slice of paradise.
