The room was cosy despite being small, and had its own bathroom. Lola at reception gave us a very warm welcome. She was friendly, accommodating, efficient, and so kind to prepare a clean room with a king bed for us to share, since we're a couple traveling with our toddler. We arrived at 9pm and other clean rooms were available, but she offered to get this one ready for us. It only took her 20 minutes, and the room was sparkling. Thanks again, Lola! The noise was the big problem. First we heard loud music from another house nearby. Once that stopped, there was constant traffic noise from cars, trucks, and motorbikes, plus the occasional plane. It was a long night, and our toddler woke up scared several times. We also paid more than we would have for the larger room with more beds that was available through Booking, though that may depend on each person's Booking account. We have a lot of bonus points and usually get good prices on the app. Update: Our room has no hot water because the heater apparently isn't working well in some rooms and needs fixing. We can use the shower next door in the meantime, but its hot and cold water aren't working together. We paid 1500pesos/75€ for a sleepless night and an awful shower. What a disaster!

The best part of this hostel was booking a discovery dive course with the owner, Lara, who is also a diving instructor. She explained everything calmly and clearly and made us feel safe getting into the water. The reefs around Akumal are beautiful, highly recommend! Our room was clean and tidy, and it was nice to have breakfast. The fruit was delicious, and the pancakes were a good way to start the day.

It was my first hostel stay, and I was surprised by how extraordinary it was. The staff went out of their way to help me, and the whole atmosphere was so friendly. I especially liked the rooftop terrace, a lovely place to unwind and meet other travelers. A real gem in Akumal, highly recommend!

The team really made this place special. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I took my first diving lessons with Lara, who was professional, patient, passionate, and so friendly. She made the experience unforgettable, and I had an amazing time diving. If you're in Akumal and want an authentic stay with genuine people, ask about a diving session. It's one of the best places I've stayed in the region. The facilities were clean, nicely decorated, and quiet. It's in the pueblo, which gives it an authentic feel, and the ocean is still within walking distance.

My son and his wife stayed in a private room with its own bathroom and TV. They said the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. There's a good range of restaurants, markets, shops, and public transportation nearby. The hostel/hotel has a welcoming feel, and the people are friendly and helpful. It's clean, modern, and comfortable, and I'd recommend it to travelers on a budget.
