Yoga classes and workshops were offered in endless variety, and I loved that people who weren’t staying at the hotel could join too. It made the place a great spot to meet all kinds of people, even just by hanging out at the juice bar. The girls there made amazing tropical juices, and the vegan restaurant was lovely. It felt like a hidden haven and a true paradise in Tulum. The front-of-house team, Diego, Manuel, and Andres, were fantastic and made me feel at home. Rocio and Moni at the Spa were so helpful. Piri in the boutique was always kind and fond of the animals living in the space.

The room was roomy and beautiful, looking out over the pool and its splashing water. So peaceful. I had the best avocado pizza ever, along with Thai vegan food, and the staff were so warm and friendly. Those two nights are among my best in a long time. I loved walking through the quiet grounds and finding little surprise messages, plus the Art Walk and its lovely paintings. I took a great yoga class, tried pottery for the first time in a 3 hr class and loved getting my hands dirty, then finished the evening with an excellent sound healing session. It left me with deep, lasting memories. I’ll be back soon.

Holistika is a real gem in La Veleta, and we’re lucky to have it here. The food is delicious, the smoothies are fabulous, and there’s a broad choice of yoga classes for different levels and preferences, plus more spiritual activities. You could easily spend the whole day here. It’s a Tulum institution. Thanks for everything!

The staff were the best part for me. Everyone was warm and kind, patiently answering all my questions about the area. They helped me switch rooms, let me check out late on my last day, and offered the showers in the communal bunk bed room before I left for the airport. My flight was in the evening, after the noon checkout. Staying here felt magical, right in the middle of the jungle. The Art Walk winds through it past different art installations. My single room was big and cool, with a fantastic shower. The restaurant was affordable and incredible, combining flavors in an exquisite way. Every dish felt like a feast for the senses. It may cost a bit more, but it’s worth it.

At breakfast, the eggs dish whose name I’ve forgotten and the chia pudding were good. The golden milk and chocolate were bad, though. I’m not sure if it was the mylk they use or something else, but I definitely don’t recommend those. I took a Restorative Yoga class at the Yoga Studio yesterday, January 1, at 7:30pm. I don’t know the teacher’s name. It was a strange class. It didn’t feel restorative, whether because of missing props, the teaching, or something else, and it still wasn’t relaxing. It was cold outside and even colder in the studio. All the windows were open. I asked for one to be closed, but it didn’t help much. Several people looked cold and uncomfortable, but the teacher didn’t seem to notice or respond. The floor was freezing too. Neither the sequence nor the room temperature made it feel restorative. The music wasn’t relaxing either. A friend thought parts of it sounded like a horror movie. The savasana music was the worst, with wild percussion that made it feel like some kind of rock concert. Some people left, and others came out of shavasana early. It was impossible to relax, especially in the cold. I’ve also heard many people don’t like Holistika’s classes, so I was surprised by all the positive reviews. I heard the teachers there are paid very low rates, less than anywhere else in town, and maybe that has something to do with the quality.
