A handy choice if you’re flying in or out of Tulum airport, or catching the Tren Maya from Tulum station. The hotel is brand new, right next to the airport, with great service, a pool, two jacuzzis, and a restaurant. Everything was clean and modern, with a Tulum-style feel to the decor. The rooms were spotless and new. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Our flight was delayed, and the car rental company wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for just one day, so we stayed near the airport instead. Glad we did. Service was great from the valet and front desk to the bartender by the pool, and everyone was friendly and attentive. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the airport, but if you have luggage, they’ll drop you right at the entrance.

The location worked well for our late arrival. We could walk from Tulum airport, and it was about 14 minutes to the main highway toward Tulum or Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Our room was clean enough and very spacious, with two queen beds, a three-person couch, and a loveseat. The long balcony had nice seating, and the fan and air conditioning both worked. We got two small welcome bottles of water, and there was a TV in the living area. For one night, the location is handy. A lot else was frustrating. Even though the hotel is only about a year old, construction was going on through the evening on the third floor and continued past 10 pm. The open bathroom layout also left little privacy: the sink and shower are in the room, with only the toilet behind a small door. Soap and shampoo smelled strongly of chemicals, like industrial cleaners. There was no refrigerator, microwave, or coffee maker. My son wanted to sleep on the couch, so we asked for two sheets. The staff member first said there were no extras because they only had enough for the beds. When I asked what they would do if someone had an accident, he said a few were kept in the laundry room. I pointed out that those were extra sheets, and he eventually found a set for us. We appreciated the effort, but the exchange was baffling. The rooftop pool was fine, but both jacuzzis were out of order. One was warm with no working jets, and the other did not work at all. We were told there was a rooftop restaurant, but it was closed, so we were directed to the downstairs cafe. The food there was acceptable. The menu listed many things they didn't have, and it wasn't clear if they had run out or didn't stock them because the hotel seemed very quiet, perhaps fewer than ten rooms occupied. The server also said tips added to a card never reach the staff, which was awkward since I had no cash. The WiFi was another mess. Each floor had its own network, and you needed that floor's QR code to connect. Moving between floors meant finding another code, and the connection didn't work during our stay anyway, so I used cellular data the whole time. The staff were polite and tried to help, but the operation felt poorly managed and unsupported. With the construction noise, broken facilities, limited supplies, dead WiFi, and inconsistent service, I wouldn't recommend staying longer, though it can do for a single night.

We were stranded for 25 hours after Sunwing cancelled our flight home, and our resort wanted $1000 for one more night. We got a ride to the Hotel at the Tulum Airport and were pleasantly surprised. The terminal is only about 400 metres from the door, and the price was reasonable at $150 Cdn. Our room was simple, bright, and clean, with a little outdoor seating area. The hotel is so new that the second and third floors weren't finished, but we didn't hear any work at all. The rooftop was impressive, with a pool, hot tubs, two bars, and a restaurant overlooking Tulum airport. You can watch planes take off and land from the pool or bar. There's also a fairly large gym with good quality equipment. Staff were very friendly, and we were happy to have ended up here. I'd recommend it if you find yourself in the same situation.

Being put up at Hotel Tulum Aeropuerto after our JetBlue flight was cancelled turned out to be a blessing. The hotel sits right in the middle of the jungle, and we loved the rooftop pool, dining area, and jacuzzi. Head up further to the lMirador for wide views in every direction. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and nicely decorated with Mexican artifacts. The staff were wonderful, especially Eliseo and Carlos, and Jasmin, the top chef, served us delicious food. The service was spectacular. What a beautiful hotel.
