Hotel Muyu Tulum

We ended up booking here late in the evening after our AirBnB didn't work out, and getting a room was quick. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and there was a small parking area outside where we left the car. The hotel has a simple, modern, cozy design. Our room was clean and fairly spacious, with a large balcony. It faced the street, so mornings and evenings were noisy, though not unbearably so. The little pool in the inner garden was a calm, relaxing spot, and breakfast on the roof had a nice charm. Breakfast was included, with omelette, fresh fruit, pancakes, juice, and coffee. We enjoyed the central location and facilities, and the price was acceptable. It was a very pleasant stay.

The breakfast here is amazing, don't miss it. The staff are friendly and helpful, too. I liked the minimalist, beautiful design, the nice rooms, balconies, air conditioners, and small pool. The street-facing side can get noisy, and sunlight hits the rooms directly all day. I also wish there had been a chair or sofa in the room.

The staff are amazing, and they quickly sorted out the terrible shower pressure by moving us to another room. Breakfast with table service was good, and the hotel is well placed in centro. The room was the big letdown. It was tiny and much more minimal than the photos suggested, with very little storage and no safe, minibar, kettle, cups, or water bottles. It felt a bit barely survivable. Soundproofing was the other major problem. You could hear anything happening outside, especially near Che, where a bunch of drunk broke hippies would yell through a megaphone at 2am.

Diego at reception was outstanding, and the staff were nice. The place was clean, secure, and well designed. Its location is great if you want to explore Tulum on foot, with city-center bars, shops, and even a gas station all within walking distance. It works well for couples, groups of friends, or business travelers. I would expect a fridge in the room for this category and area, especially since there is no bar or dinner service on site. Be aware the area may feel a little dangerous at night, so don't wander around alone. That's good advice for Tulum in general.
