I spent six months living there. It’s clean and quiet, and I felt safe. The owner and his family live upstairs, and they’re super nice.

I went to Casa Kaban to experience Tulum and, after just a day, decided I loved the place. Roberto told me how much to send for a studio deposit, so I wired the amount he had quoted. I was planning to return and left my luggage there. Ten days before I was due back, Roberto messaged that the contract was void because I hadn’t sent the correct deposit. But I’d sent exactly the amount he had stated. My return took longer than expected, and the luggage became a problem. I ended up at the Tulum Hospital with 30stitches. If Roberto is as kind and caring as he says, he should have brought my luggage to me. He knows the area and has a vehicle. I’d be wary of making any kind of contract with him.
