La Vita e Bella

We wandered in from the beach, and after waiting around 20 minutes without any staff attention, I tried to order drinks at the bar. They told me to wait for a waiter at the table, which I did. Another 15-20 minutes passed before a man finally came to take our drink order. We hadn't been given a menu, so he seemed to assume we wouldn't order food. He asked whether we were hotel guests, and when I said we weren't, he told us only hotel guests could use the restaurant's electricity and wifi. I'd noticed an outlet while waiting because my phone was about to die, and had plugged it in. It was a complete waste of time and we were treated poorly. I don't recommend the place because of this policy and the way customers were treated.

My partner and I ate at This restaurant. The waiters treated us differently based on gender: I wasn't given a menu or asked how the service was, while he was. The pizza was only average, too. We were looking at wedding venues overseas in Tulum, but I guess La vita e bella won't be the one.

I cancelled my booking in time and should have been charged a 50% cancellation fee. Instead, the hotel took the full amount from my credit card. I've had no response by phone or email, and there's really no other way to contact them, so I'm posting here to get a reaction. Please contact me right away.

A good spot to rent a couple of sunbeds and an umbrella for the day. The prices are very reasonable, and food and drinks aren't bad either.
