Libelula Tulum Beachfront Hotel

The food was fresh, delicious, and a great fit for Tulum. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and made us feel cared for without ever rushing us or pressuring us to check out. They were always there if we needed help. The location felt magical, especially sitting by the beach and looking out at the ocean at night. We were lucky to be there during a full moon, and the atmosphere was mesmerizing. It was a peaceful, memorable stay in a beautiful place. I highly recommend it and look forward to coming back.

I really appreciated the conversations and suggestions from the kind people working at Libélula, including ideas for what to do and where to eat. They also kindly offered us a bike rental for just one night. I think many guests come here to get away from Tulum’s party spots. Libélula is quieter than other hotels and accommodations, though there are still bars on the beach and inside with music. There are lots of cats, and the place opens right onto the beach. It was lovely to face the mangroves and listen to the waves, but that was only possible after the bar closed. The sea is a beautiful blue and the sand is so white, but it’s sad to see so much trash on the beach even though we’re in a reserve. It seems like the government isn’t doing anything about it, and I hope the hotels realize someone needs to take responsibility. I also recommend getting a beach massage. It costs more than elsewhere because we’re inside the reserve, but it was a really great massage.

Armando, Jorge, Mansur, Miguel, and Sam took wonderful care of us, helping with every amenity and accommodation. The beach itself is fantastic, and so are the staff, drinks, and music. Libélula’s kitchen is really talented, with Mexican food I couldn’t ask to be more delicious. Special thanks to Chely, the expert pastry chef, who made our birthday celebration special. I’d give it 10 stars. This hotel may be one of the last places representing Tulum’s former authenticity.

I always come back to my favorite place in Tulum, and I always leave happy. The sunsets and sunrises are the best I’ve ever seen, and the place feels magical, peaceful, and naturally beautiful. The Mexican food is incredible, authentic, fresh, and made with love.
