The churros were crisp outside, soft inside, and rich without feeling too heavy, a lovely finish to dinner at Mamazul. Earlier, the guacamole artesanal was fresh, creamy, and nicely seasoned. The al pastor taco had juicy, well-marinated meat with a hint of smoke and sweetness, and the quesadilla arrachera was hearty, full of tender beef and melted cheese. I also tried two mezcalitos, passion fruit, which was bright and a little tart, and sandía (watermelon), which was smooth and refreshing. Both went well with the food. Mamazul mezcalaria de Tulum is a great place for authentic flavors and creative mezcal drinks in Tulum.

The arrachera taco was the best thing I ate, really tender, and the kittens were entertaining. The pork belly taco was good but lacked the crackling, while the ribeye had plenty of flavor and came with mashed potatoes, though the meat itself wasn't very tender. Cocktails were around $250mx on average. There was live music by the entrance and the place looked upscale. The waiter seemed indifferent. I'm glad I tried this mezcal bar, but I wouldn't return.

The tacos were good, but the guacamole was bland and pretty average. Service was quick, though our appetizer got forgotten until I reminded them. There was lovely live music and ambience, and if we left a review we got a free mezcal shot. The mezcalitas were tasty too. I had the tamarind one, which was strong and really good.

We'd already eaten elsewhere, so we didn't try the food, though the open kitchen smelled very traditionally Mexican. We came for mezcal coffee and flan de elote, and both were excellent. I also had a pulcata. The mixology was great, the place itself is amazing, and the service felt warm and welcoming.

Sergio at the bar was wonderful with us, even though we needed a translation app to communicate. He helped us choose several mezcals to taste from the big selection. We had such a good time trying them here. This is my top recommendation in Tulum.
